Deputy Chief Minister Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya extended a warm welcome to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha and the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha at the Vidhan Sabha
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya warmly welcomed and felicitated the Hon'ble Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla and Shri Harivansh, Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, by presenting them with bouquets and traditional shawls at the closing ceremony of the 86th All India Presiding Officers' Conference.
Following the welcome ceremony, the Deputy Chief Minister held in-depth discussions with the dignitaries on various organizational matters and parliamentary traditions. The conference also included discussions on important points such as upholding the integrity of legislative processes and strengthening democratic values.
Mr. Maurya stated that six resolutions have been adopted: a pledge to contribute to a developed India by 2047, a commitment to holding at least 30 days of sessions in state legislative assemblies, the use of technology and AI to improve legislative work, a pledge to provide exemplary leadership to all institutions of participatory governance, a commitment to capacity building of elected representatives for factual and informed discussions using digital technology, and a comparative assessment of the performance of legislative bodies based on objective standards.
