Deputy Chief Minister Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya today participated as the chief guest in a 'Gram Chaupal' (village meeting) and 'Self-Help Group' conference held at the Junior High School near Rajjanaki in Shahgarh Gram Panchayat, Sathiaon block, Azamgarh district.
He conducted a thorough inspection of the various stalls set up by Self-Help Groups (SHGs) operating under the State Rural Livelihoods Mission. Appreciating the products made by the women, he said that our mothers and sisters are becoming self-reliant and providing new strength to the rural economy.
Housing and Employment: Under various schemes of the 'double engine' government, he distributed keys for new homes, assistance checks, and certificates of appreciation to beneficiaries and those who had performed outstanding work.
Nutrition and Health: Under 'Mission Shakti' and the 'Nutrition Campaign', he presented baskets of nutritious food to pregnant women.
Annaprashan Ceremony: Shri Maurya performed the Annaprashan ceremony (first feeding of solid food) for young children by feeding them kheer (rice pudding) and wished them a bright future.
