Deputy Chief Minister Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya said that it is a matter of immense pride for Uttar Pradesh that 14 'Lakhpati Didis' (women who have become millionaires) from the state have been invited as special guests to the historic Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path, Delhi. He said that by bestowing this national honor upon these women, the Honorable Prime Minister has proven that 'women's power' is the main pillar of the resolve for a developed India.
Shri Maurya said that the invitation extended to these women from self-help groups to participate as special guests in the Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path in the national capital, Delhi, is a matter of pride for Uttar Pradesh. He also congratulated and extended his best wishes to these women. These women will be flagged off by Deputy Chief Minister Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya from his camp office at 7, Kalidas Marg, Lucknow on January 23rd.
Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya concluded by saying that thanks to Prime Minister Modi's vision, today the daughters and daughters-in-law of villages are contributing to nation-building by becoming 'Drone Didis' and 'Lakhpati Didis'. This honor will serve as a source of inspiration for millions of other women in the state. These women have strengthened their economic condition through farming, dairy farming, BC Sakhis (business correspondents), and small industries. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya has instructed the concerned officers of the Rural Development Department to coordinate with the selected women from the respective districts and ensure all necessary arrangements for their timely travel to and from Delhi, as per instructions. According to information received from Mrs. Deep Ranjan, Director, State Rural Livelihoods Mission, the 14 women who have become millionaires include Mansha Devi from Gorakhpur (activity: e-rickshaw business and e-rickshaw trainer), and Mrs. Rajkumari Devi (activity: animal husbandry - associated with Shri Baba Gorakhnath Kripa Milk Producers Association), Pravesh Kumari from Jhansi (activity: animal feed production unit), Ritu Devi from Bijnor (activity: Vidur Cafe operation) and Suman Devi (Prerna Cafe), Mrs. Sarita Devi from Kaushambi (e-rickshaw-based enterprise, Safe Mobility Project), Ritu Sharma from Aligarh (spice manufacturing and sales), Mrs. Nirmala Devi from Chitrakoot (dairy business, associated with Bundelkhand Milk Producer Company), Mantravati Shakya from Etawah (advanced agriculture) and Vijeta Goyal (beauty parlor, public service center, etc.), Anupama Singh from Sambhal (cow-based products and other work) and Monika (cosmetics manufacturing), Gudia Devi from Raebareli (dairy business), and Asha from Deoria (Prerna Canteen). These women will depart from Lucknow for Delhi on January 23rd.
