Fake socialism—there, party presidents are decided by birth; in the BJP, a common worker rises to the highest position on the basis of merit.
On January 19, 2026, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya arrived in New Delhi, the national capital, to participate in the election program for the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), held under the party's 'Organizational Festival'.
Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya launched a scathing attack on opposition parties, particularly the Samajwadi Party. He stated that in the Bharatiya Janata Party, even an ordinary worker can rise to the highest position based on merit. "In some political parties, the president is chosen by 'birthright'. There is no place for merit there; only one family or their close associates always remain at the helm. These people call themselves 'socialists', but in reality, their socialism is limited only to the welfare of their own family. This is not democracy, but pure nepotism."
During his visit to Delhi, the Deputy Chief Minister met with senior party leaders and central ministers, exchanging pleasantries and discussing various issues. He also shared his views on the development work being carried out by the state government and the strengthening of the party organization.
The Bharatiya Janata Party is the world's largest democratic political party, where leadership is chosen through consensus and collective decision-making, adhering to the principles of internal democracy.
The Deputy Chief Minister reiterated that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh is scaling new heights of development. "We are continuously working towards making Uttar Pradesh a model state," he added.
