Keshav Prasad Maurya said that our sisters in Uttar Pradesh are writing a new story of self-reliance
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya today presented certificates of appreciation to a group of 14 'Lakhpati Didis' (women who have become millionaires) associated with the State Rural Livelihoods Mission (SRLM) and flagged them off from his official residence at 7, Kalidas Marg, to attend the Republic Day parade on Kartavya Path in Delhi as special guests.
This is a revolutionary initiative towards women's empowerment under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, which has made rural women economically empowered, self-reliant, and independent. Our sisters in Uttar Pradesh are writing a new story of self-reliance.
In the direction of financial empowerment, Self-Help Groups have been provided with a revolving fund of ₹1225 crore and a Community Investment Fund (CIF) of ₹7610 crore. Under the 'Lakhpati Mahila Yojana' (Millionaire Women Scheme), more than 33 lakh women have been identified so far, of whom more than 18 lakh have already joined the millionaire category.
According to information received from SRLM Director Smt. Deepa Ranjan, the 14 'Lakhpati Didis' going to Delhi include Mansha Devi from Gorakhpur (e-rickshaw enterprise and e-rickshaw trainer) and Smt. Rajkumari Devi (animal husbandry, associated with Shri Baba Gorakhnath Kripa Milk Producers Association), Pravesh Kumari from Jhansi (animal feed production unit), Ritu Devi from Bijnor (Vidur Cafe operation) and Suman Devi (Prerna Cafe), Smt. Sarita Devi from Kaushambi (e-rickshaw-based enterprise, Safe Mobility Project), Ritu Sharma from Aligarh (spice manufacturing and sales), Smt. Nirmala Devi from Chitrakoot (dairy business, associated with Bundelkhand Milk Producer Company), Mantravati Shakya from Etawah (advanced agriculture) and Vijeta Goyal (beauty parlor, Jan Suvidha Kendra), Anupama Singh from Sambhal (cow-based products) and Monika (cosmetics manufacturing), Gudia Devi from Raebareli (dairy business), and Asha from Deoria (Prerna Canteen).
