Following the 'One District-One Product' model, 'One District-One Dish' will become the new identity of Uttar Pradesh: Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said today in Kushinagar that the government's goal is to empower women economically by making one crore women in self-help groups "lakhpati didis" (women earning lakhs of rupees). He added that work is underway on a war footing to develop 7,500 active self-help groups in the state into "crorepati groups" (groups earning crores of rupees). This is a major step towards women's empowerment and a self-reliant India.
Mr. Maurya honored workers who have made significant contributions to self-help groups under the National Rural Livelihoods Mission. Beneficiaries were also encouraged through the distribution of symbolic checks by the Department for the Deaf, Mute, and Persons with Disabilities.
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Keshav Prasad Maurya said that all the welfare and developmental schemes implemented by the state's double-engine government are bringing positive changes in the lives of the poor, farmers, women, youth, and persons with disabilities, and continuous efforts are being made to make Uttar Pradesh self-reliant and prosperous.
