Deputy Chief Minister Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya stated that the Uttar Pradesh government's Food Processing Industry Policy-2023 is rapidly developing the state into a major industrial hub. This policy is boosting investment, employment, and exports, boosting farmers' income, and providing a strong foundation for start-ups and entrepreneurship.
He stated that 22 projects were approved at the State-Level Empowered Committee meeting, with investments totaling approximately ₹500 crore and grants of approximately ₹55 crore. So far, 460 projects have been approved, accelerating the expansion of the food processing sector in the state.
The Deputy Chief Minister stated that the government's priority is to increase the participation of local farmers and directly connect them with the supply of raw materials, which will lead to a sustainable increase in their income. He also stated that the policy will be widely publicized to encourage youth and start-ups to establish more industries.
He expressed confidence that this policy will strengthen the rural economy, making the state a leader in agriculture-based industries.
