Bima Sugam : The government may launch the Bima Sugam platform by December. All insurance policy customers will find a single place on the Bima Sugam platform. Life, health and car policies can be compared, purchased and claim settlement can be done at one place. Insurance regulatory body IRDAI has officially announced the digital platform Bima Sugam. Although this portal has not been launched yet, its first phase is ready to be launched from December 2025. Earlier it was planned to be launched in April 2025, but it had to be postponed due to technical and safety reasons.
What is Insurance Sugam?
Insurance Sugam is being built as a one-stop online marketplace where life insurance, health insurance, vehicle insurance, and all other policies can be purchased, renewed, and managed from a single location, along with claim settlement services.
Why is this platform special?
Today, customers purchase and manage insurance policies through different agents, portals, and apps. This often creates hassles and confusion for them. Insurance Sugam will eliminate these problems and bring all companies and intermediaries onto a single platform.
Who is behind this?
This initiative was jointly launched by IRDAI, the Life Insurance Council, and the General Insurance Council (GIC). Insurance Sugam could prove to be a game-changer for consumers. All policies will be available in one place, making policy comparisons easier, and renewals and claim settlements will be faster.
