Inaugurating the Saras Festival in Kaushambi, Keshav Prasad Maurya said that the women of self-help groups are the 'strength of the nation'
In Kaushambi, he inaugurated the two-day Saras Mahotsav, being held at Babu Singh Degree College, Sayara Ground. On this occasion, he participated in various developmental activities, reiterating his commitment to women's empowerment and a self-reliant India.
He directly interacted with approximately 10,000 women from self-help groups who had come to the two-day Saras Mahotsav, which was organized to promote rural livelihoods and women's empowerment. During this, he learned about the experiences, work, and achievements of the women in the groups and encouraged them to move forward towards self-reliance. He stated that these efforts are the backbone of the rural economy.
Mr. Maurya fed the first morsel to young children and wished them a bright future. He also reiterated the government's commitment to the better health of pregnant women by providing them with 'nutritious food' kits.
