Deputy Chief Minister Shri Maurya accorded a grand welcome to the 'Peace March' of Buddhist monks in Lucknow; he remains at the forefront of charitable endeavors
Today, at his official residence located at 7 Kalidas Marg in Lucknow, Keshav Prasad Maurya extended a heartfelt welcome and felicitation to the 'Peace March'—undertaken by revered Buddhist monks carrying the sacred message of global peace. He stated that the teachings of Lord Buddha constitute not merely a philosophy, but an art of living. It is his message of peace alone that can liberate the world from conflicts and guide it toward a secure future.
On this occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister interacted with the Buddhist monks and emphasized that Lord Buddha's principles are profoundly essential in the current global landscape. While addressing the reception ceremony, the Deputy Chief Minister remarked that at a time when numerous nations across the world are grappling with mutual conflicts, animosity, and instability, Lord Buddha's teachings—centered on 'compassion, non-violence, and peace'—have become more relevant than ever before.
He emphatically asserted that the path illuminated by Tathagata Buddha is the only one capable of saving humanity from destruction and guiding it toward well-being. He described this Peace March as a commendable endeavor to sow the seeds of brotherhood and harmony within society; further underscoring the significance of Buddhist traditions on this sacred land, he affirmed that the State Government remains committed to disseminating the messages of peace delivered by great personalities and saints to every section of the populace.
The event was attended by Dr. Lalji Prasad Nirmal (Honorable Member of the Legislative Council), revered Bhantes (senior Buddhist monks hailing from various parts of the country), and students.
